Yes the season is just over half way completed. Points of interest to date must be -
1/. 3 Boys had their heads shaved for " Shave for a Cure " namely Chris Long, Troy Smith & David Waru raising several hundred dollars in the process.
2/. The NZ Marist Spillane Tournament went well for OBM with our Seniors getting to the final of the Division 2 Ham Cumming Cup where they were beaten 13 v 10 by Napier Old Boys Marist.
3/. The June issue of the Marist Green & Gold Times is now out and can now be viewed on the Marist Website

Gold Services Awards went to Lloyd Wapp, Dave Currie and Peter Richards Jnr

"First Trophies for Old Boys Marist RFC
Newly merged club Old Boys Marist has its first trophies in the cabinet following success in the Senior 2 and Senior Reserve competitions.
In the Senior 2 grade, Old Boys Marist and Varsity Rams completed their competition round both on 41 competition points, with each team recording 10 wins and just the one loss. The fixture between the two teams on FMG Stadium on Anzac Day resulted in a close fought victory to old Boys Marist 34-27. They win the John Clifford Cup, held by Varsity Rams in 2008.
In the Senior Reserve grade, Old Boys Marist and COB completed their competition round both on 39 competition points, with each team recording 9 wins, one draw and one loss. The fixture between the two teams on Arena Field 3 on 11th April resulted in a 13 all draw. Point’s differential was required to separate the teams, with Old Boys Marist's +201 coming out on top over COBs's +119. They win the Old Gibbons Cup.
Both trophies were be presented to the teams at our clubrooms on Saturday 13th June 2009.

5/. Once again a BIG THANK YOU to all our Sponsors.
6/. On the field OBM Senior 1st claimed the last remaining spot in the top 6, with a 32 - 29 win over Linton. Their competition steps up a gear with matches against - COB, Kia Toa, Varisty, Feilding and Linton over the next 5 weeks, before the Finals. WELL DONE BOYS !!!!!!!!
7/. Get down and support ALL our teams the Clubrooms have been humming over recent weeks and no more so than Saturday 6th June when all our Rugby teams won, so did all our Netball teams and 9 of the 11 Marist Soccer teams. to cap it off the Club hosted the Jets basketballers.
